accomodation

Generally it is very difficult for outstation students to find an accommodation near the college. DU has some hostels like Jubilee Hall, D. S. Kothari Hostel, International Students House, Meghdoot Hostel, University Hostel for Women etc. however they are not enough. There are some private hostels in north campus like Aparna hostel , laxmi hostel etc. Some students also rent flats on monthly basis. Some nearby areas where one can get a good and affordable accommodation is Vijay nagar. Hudson lane, Indra vihar etc. As far as food is concerned there are some small and affordable restaurants in north campus. One can also hire a cook on monthly basis or even choose a monthly mess system. However it is preferable to hire a cook. About transportation, many hostels provide bus service for girls. One can also take metro as it is very affordable and even hire bicycle from metro station which hardly costs 10 rupees for 4 hours. Depending on all these factors the monthly expenses could be somewhere around 3000 to 10000.

DU has basically two campuses, north campus and south campus. North campus is more popular as it has many good colleges like Kirori Mal College , Shri Ram College of Commerce , Ramjas College , Miranda House and many more, while south campus has colleges like Lady Shri Ram College for Women , Gargi College , Sri Venkateswara College etc. North campus offers many good courses however the selection procedure is tough and a very high percentage is required. Some of the very popular courses of DU are B.com (pass and hons), Bsc , and BA in different languages like French, German etc. DU provides a large range of courses and the fees is relatively very less so every one can afford it. Now days courses like BBS, BBA, Journalism etc are gaining popularity.

Delhi University, established in 1922, is one of the premier universities of the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research. With around 15 faculties and more then 75 colleges it is among the largest universities in the world. Colleges like Shri Ram College of Commerce , St. Stephen's College, Delhi , are ranked one in the country for commerce and science respectively. Delhi University popularly known as DU offers courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels in most of the subjects.

Every year thousands of students from all over the country and even abroad come to take admission in DU however they face many problems like which college to select, courses , admission criteria, accommodation etc. This is a web page in order to help those students.
